QID Participates in Kazakhstan’s National Consultation on Carbon Neutrality

Elmira Abakanova, Executive Director of the Qazaq Independent Directors (QID) Association, took part in the Second National Consultation organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on implementing Kazakhstan’s Strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

The event became a dialogue platform for discussing the country’s sustainable development prospects. As part of the consultation, representatives of government bodies, international organizations, the business community, sector associations, and independent experts discussed ways to achieve a balance between economic growth and climate responsibility.

Why is this important for QID?

The QID Association actively promotes the values of sustainable development, ESG approaches, and green transformation. The Association’s work is aimed at:

 • training directors on sustainable corporate governance;

 • advising on the development and implementation of ESG strategies;

 • participating in expert dialogues at national and international levels;

 • developing standards and practices for responsible work of boards of directors.

QID believes that ESG is not just a trend, but a norm of strategic leadership that ensures long-term sustainability and trust in organizations.
