28 November in Astana, the Certificate in Company Direction programme — the flagship director development course of the UK Institute of Directors — officially began in partnership with the Qazaq Independent Directors Association.

The opening module, “The International Role of the Director and the Board”, provides participants with practical insight into key director duties, the Board’s role in governance, and essential principles of transparency, risk oversight and stakeholder engagement.

The first module speaker, Paul Munden, is a commercial law solicitor and Chartered Director with many years of experience advising business. He leads corporate governance programmes at the Institute of Directors, shaping director education for current and future Board members.
